Today, even communities in the regions are no longer surprised by the abundance and diversity of festivals. We want to reach the listener through his daily activities. We will create a jazzy and bubbling city, the main concept of which is to integrate into the normal activities of the community without disturbing the rhythm and even the life routine, but at the same time surprise, remember the history of the city and leave an impression. The project “Water Music” will expand and strengthen the traditional jazz event, which ensures the first jazz festival in Lithuania, which took place in 1968. In Elektrėnai, initiative and tradition. With the help of this project, the team of Elektrėnai Culture Center plans not only to create conditions for the listeners of the region to hear professionally performed jazz music, but also to pay attention to the history of the city. 1961 September 12 the Strėva River was dammed, as a result of which the Elektrėnai Lagoon was formed. This water body and its emergence has a grand significance for the establishment, development and daily life of the city of Elektrėnai, and also inspired the implementation of the project “Water Music”. With the help of the educational community of Lithuanian musicians and involving the history of Elektrėnai, we will expand the boundaries of the project from music to history and forms of implementation. The music performed by the jazz event and the programs of the performers are related to the theme of water: lagoon, snow, fog, fog, ice, etc. It is noticeable that live and professional music reaches the most professional listeners in the region, so there is a need to exchange and connect music with history. The non-commercial event will become an exceptionally significant cultural event not only in Elektrėnai municipality, but also in the neighboring districts, involving more organizations and partners in the jazz process and ensuring the development of culture and history. We want to intertwine the jazz genre and quality music with the history of Elektrėnai and present it in forms acceptable to the general public: by organizing the original advertising campaign of the festival using water colors, spreading jazz music in public spaces, on the beach, youth gatherings, near the city fountain. Thus, on August 28, 2021. Elektrėnai will become a city of water music.
